Welcome! to the time of year when we build new worlds aka pleasureVerses (universes of pleasure). Spring and springs. Seasons and physics. Everywhere “energy resides in great measure near the surface”.
In pleasureVerses, power rises, expands, makes itself known. pleasureVerses are made up of units created to measure strength, sensuality and satisfaction.
pleasureVerses grow my sense of sexuality, sensuality, self and freedom. I do the work I do because I want that freedom for all.
The first pleasureVerses I claimed as my own were wildness, writing and connective physicality (intersections of sports, sex, biking, radical in the streets activism/community building).
Below I describe my current pleasureVerses. Curious, what are yours?
pleasureVerse one- secretC
Over the last month, pleasureVerse one connected me with otter, fox, white pelicans, beaver, merlin, 5 porcupines, moss, ermine, eagles, osprey, and snake. Here, wildness invites me to intimately, queerly, simply engage the present moment. I find appreciation and spaciousness in each experience
pleasureVerse one aka the secretC (inspired by Phillip Pullman’s newest) is full of communication between my inner and outer worlds. A practice of allowing moments to offer “hidden” connections, I encourage myself to think everything means something. If I’m willing to read it, an owl’s cry or pod of dolphins is blazing with significance.
pleasureVerse one is pulsing with dynamic solitudes. I imagine the world I want to create for myself and erect important boundaries so I can touch this space, know dynamic beauty. There’s a lot of flim flam in the world. pleasureVerse one demands I wade through distraction. Get clear. Focus my energy. pleasureVerse one is pure, dsitilled, potent, poetry.
pleasureVerse two - Imagination
In this reality, I re-imagine the world. I invite strength(s) grown in pleasureVerse one out to engage other. I laugh at myself, weird up realities, and am smitten by others who do the same.We pleasure the world, commit to continuing to pleasure the world and will not give ourselves away in the process.
pleasureVerse two lends to co-creating in person, a shared life force, in the flesh connection. pleasure Verse two is me shaping the outer world I want. Everyday I get intimate with my imagination. I do as much pleasuring as possible. I take creative clarity and make our collective world stronger. I heal, we heal here as a people. pleasure Verse two is forest, fire, tasting multiple flavors of love at one time, prose.
pleasureVerse three - Spells
pleasureVerse three is where I transmute the fire and friction that builds up between the two worlds above. I’ve replenished, focused, And now train like a jedi, boddhishattva, artist of altered realities. I own my biophilia, swim upstream, and create pleasure spells. I practice communication and attentiveness like never before.
I step beyond our culture’s constant elevation of privilege and intellect. I notice intuitive muscles have atrophied. In pleasureVerse three my imagination and senses explode to cast spells. Almost like glitter bombing each other, I remember I’m a giver not just consumer. The living world is not my property. Ideas of personhood (re-center living world) and property law (acknowledge stole land) collide with needs of human and biotic communities. We invest in indigenous wisdom, de-center western approach to ownership. Language unites us. And we see wildness has its own sovereignty.
The spell is used wisely here to transmute collective pain- instead of wishing others harm, I invite all to notice pleasure in radical new ways. Every spell falls under the sensual umbrella of sustainable pleasurable experience. I pleasure bomb or cast spells when I feel irritated, angry, enraged, overwhelmed, sad. When I unleash pleasure on the world I pivot from a place of fear and powerlessness. I end up laughing most every time. Wishing extreme pleasure on someone transcends patterns of hardening the heart. Each spell asks me to actively pay attention to a shared wildness in my body and beyond. pleasureVerse three is collective liberation, water and wind, pulsing sounds, reverberation.
